Sustainability

Less material.
More beauty.
Lower cost.

We believe sustainability and luxury are not opposites. Through intelligent design, we reduce the materials in every package — without sacrificing the aesthetic or brand integrity our clients demand.

Our position

Sustainability through
design intelligence

Most brands treat sustainability as a trade-off — choosing between looking premium and being responsible. We reject that premise. Every gram of material we remove from a package is both an environmental improvement and a direct cost saving for our client.

Our approach begins at the design stage. Before any material is selected, our structural team analyses the product's requirements — protection, presentation, shipping — and engineers the minimum viable structure that meets all three.

100% Compostable
Mailer Bag

Our compostable mailer is made from PLA-based film certified to EN 13432 — it breaks down within 180 days in a home compost environment. The print is water-based. There is no plastic, no foil, no laminate that cannot be composted alongside it.

Same impact, same branding capability, zero end-of-life compromise.

How we do it

Design as the first
sustainability tool

Sustainable packaging is not just about switching to kraft paper. It is about structural thinking — wall thickness, flute selection, glue placement, print coverage — each decision reducing waste without reducing impact.

01
Structural lightweighting
We engineer wall thickness, board weight and internal geometry to use the minimum material that still delivers structural integrity and premium feel.
Avg. −15% board weight
02
Print area optimisation
Selective spot finishes create a luxury effect with a fraction of the material of full-coverage treatments — foil and UV only where they earn their place.
Targeted, not blanket
03
Dieline rationalisation
Our structural engineers review every dieline for nesting efficiency — maximising blanks per sheet, reducing offcut waste at source before production begins.
Up to −12% sheet waste
04
Material substitution
FSC-certified recycled board, water-based inks and compostable laminates — maintaining look and feel while removing virgin material from the supply chain.
Like-for-like alternatives
05
Mono-material design
Packaging made from a single material family is significantly easier to recycle. We design for end-of-life from the outset — avoiding composite structures that contaminate waste streams.
Recyclability by design
06
Right-sizing
We analyse product-to-pack ratios and recommend minimum viable dimensions — reducing material, shipping volume and carbon footprint simultaneously.
Less air, more product
Our commitments

What we stand behind

These are not aspirations. They are standards already in place across our manufacturing and sourcing operations.

FSC-certified paper & board
All paper-based substrates sourced exclusively from FSC-certified forests. Chain-of-custody documentation available on request for every order.
Water-based inks as standard
Solvent-free water-based inks used across all standard print runs. VOC emissions eliminated from our primary print process.
Compostable laminate options
PLA-based compostable laminates available as a direct substitute for standard plastic films on folding cartons and pouches.
Recycled content materials
Post-consumer recycled board available at 50%, 70% and 100% recycled content — with no visible quality difference at standard print weights.
Zero single-use plastic inserts
We have eliminated single-use plastic tissue, filler and void-fill from our rigid box line. Paper and pulp alternatives used throughout.
Carbon footprint reporting
On request, we provide a production carbon estimate for your packaging run — covering material, print and shipping — to support your own sustainability reporting.
The business case

Sustainable design
saves you money.

Every material reduction is a cost reduction. Our structural design reviews consistently identify savings that more than offset any premium sustainable material choices.

−15%
Board weight reductionLighter boards reduce per-unit material cost on rigid box projects without changing the premium feel.
−20%
Shipping volume savingsRight-sized packaging reduces freight cost per pallet — a compounding saving across every production run.
−12%
Sheet waste reductionDieline nesting improvements reduce substrate cost directly — per 1,000 units produced.
−35%
Finish cost reductionSelective spot foil and UV achieve the same premium effect at a fraction of full-coverage treatment costs.
